Two from Future Generations Arunachal Participated in National Seminar


Two staff from Future Generations Arunachal (FGA) Ms. Takhe Meena, Supervisor and Mrs. Rubu Ampi, Finance Associate participated in a National Seminar on 'Developing Leadership Skills of Women Representatives of PRIs' which was organised by National Institute of Rural Development - North Eastern Regional Centre, Guwahati from 18 to 21 November'2013. Objective of this 4 days program was to develop & strengthen a leadership quality and it covered various issues such as PRIs role, Constitution of India, Amendments, various schemes for empowering Panchayati Raj Institutions, Financial Management and Resource Mobilization etc.
Moreover, Resource from NIRD also explained the participants how govt. departments/officials & NGO can take part in the upliftment of Panchayati Raj.

From Arunachal, PRI members from West Siang and Papumpare also took part in this programme. Besides this, some govt. officials and PRI members from other states including Manipur and Assam also participated in the seminar. The participants were also taken to Morigaon on a field visit which got Nirmal Gram Award in 2008-09, also visited to Kapili Development Colony where participants interacted with local people of that area and shared experiences. 
Resource persons from NIRD, Guwahati facilitated to more than 50 (Fifty) participants from different states  in this four days seminar with emphasizing knowledge and skill development of each participant.

Attended workshop on...

Mr. Mone Gurung, Program Coordinator FGA, attended a week-long (15-20 November, 2013) workshop on entrepreneurship development workshop on food processing at Rajiv Gandhi University extension centre, Naharlagun. The workshop was organized by Institute of Integrated Rural Development (IIRD), Shimla in Collaboration with Department of Mass Communication, Rajiv Gandhi University. The program was supported by National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Sonepat, Haryana.


Field visit was organized at Bosco Integrated Development Center, Yupia/Tigdo where Don Bosco family managing a food processing unit (small). Participants were excited to see the unit for the first time in their life where manually and in simple way they are manufacturing varieties of pickle.

Among others, Resource faculty from IIRD imparted the workshop focused on communication skills. 50 + participants took the opportunity to be the part of the program.
