As many as 11 women participants from Palin, Yazali and Yachuli Self Help Group (SHG) members participated in 05 days Pickle making training at Bosco integrated Training Center, Tigdo village in Yupia from 23rd to 27th April last.
The main proposed of providing training is to build up the
capacity and integrated skills in pickle making, organic kitchen gardening and
poultry raising so that through skills and knowledge, the SHG member can
utilize the locally available seasonal fruits and vegetable into making and
preserving home based handmade pickles which could turn into spinning of income
for them with quality assurance. They were also trained on preparing bakery
items in the center. Concluding the program, orientation session was conducted
at FGA’s Training and Demonstration Center (TDC) in Banderdewa where
participants were briefed on Organic kitchen gardening, poultry farming and
bamboo craft.
The trained participants are reluctant to practice what they
learnt will apply at home first then will share the learning experience and
demonstration to their SHG members.
The training program was supported by Future Generations
Arunachal (FGA), a non-profit, non-governmental organization working towards
community development since 1997.
