Itanagar June 4, 2012: Training on Handling of Water Testing Field
Test Kits to the Gram Panchayat/ Village Water and Sanitation Committee (VWSC)
of East Siang District concluded at Boleng Sub- division on June 01 last at
Community hall, Boleng. Selected VWSC members from the surrounding Gram
Segments under Boleng sub-division participated in the programme with full enthusiasm.

Sub-division participated in the training programme and encourages the participants
not to missed the opportunity of the training to monitoring the drinking water
quality and its sources. He advised the
selected VWSC trainees to take the responsibilities for monitoring the drinking
water sources of their respected villages using the supplied Field Testing Kits
(FTK). He briefs the participants that about 70-80% of diseases are caused due to
using the unsafe drinking water from the contaminated water. Further, he
advices the participants that it is more important to practice in the field to
check the water sources then only attending training programme.
Ojing Megu, Laboratory Technician, PHE & WS
dept, Pasighat, and Mone Gurung, FGA gave demonstrative training on how to use
and measure the chemical reagents while handling the Water Testing Field Test
Kit to the participants.
Earlier, Mone Gurung, Project Coordinator, FGA, introduces
the organization’s aims & the objectives and the objectives of the training
programme to the participants. He
encourages the participants to take the maximum opportunities of the training
programme. FGA is mainly focus on grassroots
level capacity building programme to the local people using the human energy
for equitable and sustainable development. It also works on healthcare, income
generation, women empowerment and conservation.
At the end, Field Testing Kits (FTK) was
distributed to each Village of Boleng circle. As many as 42 peoples attended
the training programme.
It
is to worth mentioned here that the series of training program was held
at the circle headquarters of East Siang district kicked off from Oyan
